A firmware update for the Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro is currently making the rounds. It adds Vo2Max, breath quality during sleep, support for interval training and more.
The device was released in China back in July. There are indicators that we should be seeing in Europe and the broader world market in the near future. These come in the form of an EU Declaration of Conformity, which was recently spotted, along with images being shared on Reddit of the supposedly international edition.
Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro update – software version 1.3.38
Perhaps in preparation for the global release, Xiaomi released a software update earlier today. And it’s a pretty hefty one. For starters, it allows the device to display VO2Max, a key fitness level indicator for those who run and bike. On this subject, users are also given the opportunity to complete interval training with direct guidance from the device.

The Chinese tech giant has also boosted sleep stats with sleep breathing quality. Breath quality during sleep is closely related to your daily life. Poor breath quality at night can make you feel tired during the day. Various factors can affect this, including posture, weight, alcohol consumption, and more. The Xiaomi MI Band 7 now has the ability to calculate a sleep breathing quality score and report suspected breathing difficulties.
In addition, other updates that are part of the 1.3.38 software include optimizations to the always-on display, a larger selection of watch faces, and more. Here is the full changelog.
You can wait to be notified when the update is available. The other option is to force the update by going to the “Device” page in the smartphone app and clicking “Update”. The app will then check if updates are available and let you know.
Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro is a fitness band that doesn’t look like a fitness band. And that is the main difference to the basic version – the design. The wearable comes with a 1.64-inch wide AMOLED display that’s more reminiscent of a smartwatch than an activity bracelet. The other major addition over the non-Pro edition is the built-in GPS. Those with the vanilla version will have to settle for Connected GPS.

It just gets the job done and you have a selection of smartphone apps to use it with. There’s a plethora of smart health and fitness tracking features to get your teeth into, including continuous SpO2 monitoring with alerts. This is coupled with excellent battery life and water resistance. You also get a chic AMOLED display inside the sporty case.
The Mi Band 7 has also received a firmware update. But the firmware version 18.104.22.168 that landed a few days ago is much thinner than the Pro update. In addition to the usual bug fixes, it only adds a battery manager and a night mode.
The non-Pro can be picked up for around $60 (check price on Amazon). The Pro is slightly more expensive (check price/availability on Amazon). As mentioned, you can only pick up the Chinese edition for now.
