Saudi Arabian Airlines, known as Saudia, the Kingdom’s national carrier, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority and the Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence to leverage digitization and artificial intelligence solutions and enhance the Kingdom’s global leadership in the set up.
The signing took place at the Global AI Summit held September 13-15 at the King Abdulaziz Conference Center in Riyadh under the auspices of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Chair of the SDAIA.
Under the terms of the MoU, the three parties will create a common framework for leveraging the latest AI and emerging technologies to improve customer experience, while also exploring ways to collaborate on the development and deployment of AI applications. The three parties have agreed to deploy advanced technologies and natural language processing across Saudia’s customer care and digital channels.
dr Majid Altuwaijri, Executive Director of the National Center for Artificial Intelligence, signed the MoU on behalf of SDAIA, while Ayman Al-Rashed, CEO of SCAI, and Dr. Khaled Alhazmi, Vice President of Operations and IT Support of Saudia, signed their respective companies.
“We at Saudia are excited to partner with SDAIA and SCAI to develop and deliver advanced, sophisticated digital products,” said Dr. Alhazmi. “Across all of our digital channels, our never-ending quest to improve our guest experiences has always been digital and we will work with new technologies, AI and the Internet of Things to transform the way we communicate with them bring it up to date next level.”
Al-Rashed, the CEO of SCAI, expressed his excitement at working with the Kingdom’s national airline to improve their customer experience by using the latest AI and emerging technologies.
“We discussed ways to develop and leverage AI applications to achieve Saudia’s strategic goals, including the deployment of SauTech, a voice-to-text system that is sure to enhance the experiences of Saudia guests” , said Al Rashed.
“SCAI and Saudia will work together to leverage the system’s advanced speech recognition solution to enhance their customer care applications.”
dr Altuwaijri, the CEO of NACI, emphasized SDAIA’s intention to build a data-driven, AI-powered economy, saying, “Our mission is to unlock the latent value of big data to achieve the Vision 2030 goals.
“This MOU will help us diversify the sectors where the Kingdom can develop and apply AI solutions, and aviation is one of the key sectors to benefit from these technologies.”
Saudia announced earlier this week that it has been appointed strategic sponsor and official host of the Global AI Summit, a three-day event bringing together more than 200 speakers representing digital and AI policymakers from 70 countries, along with investors and Top executives attended large technology companies.
Saudia’s sponsorship of the prestigious event underscores its commitment to the goals of Vision 2030, including establishing the Kingdom as a global leader among data-driven, AI-enabled economies and applying cutting-edge AI solutions to ensure its guests and employees benefit best possible service.
