unifi Business launches new offerings to speed up local MSMEs’ digitalisation journey

Integrated service provider unifi, through unifi Business, has unveiled a new set of business solutions curated to help Malaysian micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) accelerate their digital business transformation.

As the economy grows rapidly in the transition to endemic, unifi’s latest suite of solutions aims to meet business needs in these key areas: penetrating e-commerce operations, strengthening online security, boosting productivity and streamlining connectivity.

unifi Business, owned by Telekom Malaysia Bhd(TM), the leading Malaysian telecoms company, said that this latest Internet bundle includes a selection of these solutions: unifi Cloud Storage, unifi eCommerce Hub and a state-of-the-art cyber security solution.

The unifi cloud storage solution provides flexible, secure and scalable data storage to help organizations manage the storage of valuable information. Features like multi-user access and secure encryption are included to increase business productivity. Hosted on-premises at TM’s Green Data Center certified facilities, Unifi Cloud Storage provides secure storage for critical files and information so businesses can focus on growth and profitability.

Meanwhile, the unifi eCommerce Hub solution is designed to seamlessly connect and maximize growth opportunities by offering a single and integrated platform with an easy-to-use interface. Business owners can sync their offline and online sales channels, manage product inventories and orders, monitor sales and earnings, and manage social media inquiries. You can even create interactive websites with integrated online payment features and delivery partner services.

Designed to protect businesses from cyberattacks, the cybersecurity solution is easy to deploy and easy to manage, allowing MSMEs to focus on generating revenue and growing their business, regardless of the organization’s Information Technology (IT) skillset.

The solution combines the simplicity of PC protection with dedicated features to protect businesses. With a “set and forget” security system, it protects Windows, Mac PCs, laptops and Android devices, as well as Windows file servers by securing valuable files and documents.

The solution helps strengthen internet security for businesses that pay bills and taxes online. It also has built-in vulnerability scanning to ensure apps are protected from intruders while in use. Features such as file encryption and data backup are enabled to protect corporate intellectual property and trade secrets.

MSMEs play a crucial role in the growth of the digital economy in Malaysia

Citing data from the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), Malaysia’s e-commerce value rose 22% in the January-September period to RM801 billion in 2021, compared to RM658 billion in 2020.

MSMEs, which accounted for 97.4% of all business formations in the country in 2021, will fuel the growth of Malaysia’s digital economy as more of them participate in the burgeoning local and regional e-commerce market by making their products and services available online.

Mohamad Yusman Ammeran, head of unifi’s SME segment, said that MSMEs need to seize the digital boom in time to move towards more sustainable growth in order to remain competitive.

“Going digital right is the way to go and unifi Business is prepared to help them get back on their feet, come back stronger and generate positive profits through our innovative digital solutions,” he said.

“Our dedicated Unifi Business Advisory team is further evidence of our commitment to MSMEs. They are certified with the International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL) and provide ongoing support and guidance.

“Our diverse range of business solutions for MSMEs also reflect TM’s support for government initiatives such as the National Digital Network (JENDELA) and MyDIGITAL, and aligns with the group’s role as a enabler of Digital Malaysia,” said Yusman.

JENDELA aims to provide people with wider coverage and better broadband quality as the country transitions to 5G technology, which will be implemented gradually with Phase 1 from 2020 to 2022 and Phase 2 from 2022 to 2025.

TM has explicitly supported the Malaysian government’s 5G deployment as part of the SWN (Single Wholesale Network) model. It said 5G would expand opportunities and growth areas across all customer segments for TM and strengthen the group’s fixed-mobile convergence offering and digital services.

The MyDIGITAL initiative defines various measures and goals that will be implemented in three phases by 2030. The initiative, which includes the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint, complements national development policies such as the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) and the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 ( WKB 2030).

With online connectivity playing a central role in the new normal, unifi Business will continue to bridge the connectivity gap by providing businesses with innovative and high quality products at affordable prices.
