Stryd has announced the next generation of its foot pod. It comes with a number of different improvements.
According to the company’s website, these include:
- 5x better responsiveness for more accurate pacing;
- the ability to track lower-body stress, which helps you optimize recovery. shock loading rate quantifies how quickly your body absorbs force when your foot hits the ground;
- new running profiles;
- Sprint accuracy to track speed work improvements.
The design of the pod has been upgraded to use “new advanced materials” (aerospace-grade aluminum, advanced fiber materials, and double-sided silicone), which are more robust. The clip has been improved to hold the pod in place more firmly. In addition, the sensors have been upgraded to the next generation and the algorithm has been improved.

We’ve included the live stream video of the launch event below this article. If you have a free hour, stop by. It seems most of the improvements are a direct result of the faster sensors.

A subsequent generation of the shoe clip came onto the market in 2019. He improved his calculations with wind conditions and told you how hard it is to run in headwinds, downwinds and drafts. Other additions included temperature and humidity sensors and a magnetometer.
