To update: It’s been three months since we first published this article, but we had to bring it back after revisiting the PS5 and PS4 release schedule for 2023. If you thought the original list (which you can still find below) was ridiculous, wait until you see this update. My goodness!
Indeed, 2023 is shaping up to be one of the most terrifying years for gaming we’ve seen in generations.
Without problems…
This is getting silly now, isn’t it? The crazy part is that Sony currently only has one first-party blockbuster planned for 2023, and that’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It’s not unreasonable to expect at least one more PlayStation Studio title to come out next year.
Do you think 2023 will really be crazy about new games? Take a look at our original story to compare how much this list has grown in three months, then brace yourself for a rush in the comments section below.
Original story: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was revealed just a few days ago, complete with a winter 2023 release window, and it got us thinking… like stacked is 2023 for PS5 and PS4 games? Answers: very much – To the point where most of these launch objectives are in place, we could be looking at one of the strongest years in PlayStation history.
No, seriously, check out this list. Most of these games don’t have release dates yet, but at the time of writing they’re all slated for 2023.
See:
My goodness! And the thing is, more games will be added to this list over the next few months and beyond – it’s far from final.
There are heavy hitters – many of whom skip last-gen consoles entirely. Games like Dead Space, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy VII Reborn, Alan Wake II, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Pragmatism, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Street Fighter 6 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. All will be complete blockbusters – big Budget games with the potential to set the sales charts on fire.
Now, of course, some of those games don’t make it to 2023. The aforementioned Final Fantasy VII Rebirth immediately springs to mind; Square Enix is as a matter of fact Will Two Tentpole Final Fantasy Games Release Within Six Months? We fight to believe, but when it does does Yes indeed…
Still, the potential here is undeniable – a truly ridiculous release schedule as it stands. Which games are you most looking forward to in 2023? Are there any games that you think should be delayed? Let us know if you’re already thinking of next year’s wonders in the comments section below.
