Police are soliciting feedback from members of the public who have recently contacted us for a non-urgent reason. Individuals who call their local police station, call 105 or other emergency number, or submit an online report may be invited to complete a brief, confidential survey about their experience. This feedback will help ensure the police provide the services that all New Zealanders expect and deserve. It’s similar to the type of surveys you might receive after contacting other organizations through their customer service channels.
An invitation to take the survey will be sent to the email address you provided when you contacted us, with a link to the survey. The link is valid for five days after it is sent. Individuals creating an online report on 105 will also be invited to take the survey after submitting their report.
The survey is quick and easy to complete and can be completed using a PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet. It is voluntary and only takes a few minutes. You need internet access and normal data charges apply.
The survey asks a few simple questions about the service you received from us and how you contacted us.
This survey is only intended for people who have contacted us in the past few days.
If you have provided the police with an email address, we can contact you. The email comes from: [email protected]
We will never ask you for personal information such as passwords, access codes or bank account numbers as part of this survey. If you are unsure please contact us on 105.
Your feedback helps us understand what we’re doing well and where we can still improve. We use them to improve our processes and procedures and to develop new products or tools when necessary.
In some situations, the survey team may contact you if:
- We believe we can quickly fix or improve an issue for you
- We want to better understand your experience
- we fear that you or someone else will be hurt or at risk of being hurt
The information you provide will be kept strictly confidential and only authorized persons can access it. We have systems and safeguards in place to control how we collect, manage and use your feedback.
See more information about how we manage personal data.
If you no longer wish to receive these surveys from us in the future, you can opt-out by selecting the “unsubscribe” button when you receive an email.
