Jenna Ortega’s ‘Autopsy’ Admission Startles the Internet: ‘Take it Back’

Last week, actress Gina Ortega revealed that she used to “do vivisection on small animals” when she was younger, which subsequently baffled the internet.

The You are The star made the confession while discussing her friendship with Maddie Ziegler during an “autocomplete interview” for WiredYouTube channel.

“I feel like Maddie and I’m the same person on different lines,” Ortega said. “She’s a weirdo, and I’m a weirdo about her [that I] I used to do autopsies on small animal cadavers when I was younger. Like, the little lizards I found dead in my backyard.

Amidst all the criticism, some fans have defended Ortega and said there was nothing strange about performing autopsies on already dead animals.

“Isn’t this just an animal dissection? Like everyone else does in biology class at school? Why the quotes that say this is serial killer behavior?” jihyeojin asked.

@percsdelicious wrote on Twitter: “She did this all along? She wasn’t torturing live animals that were already dead. You guys need to relax.”

Some commentators also said that, for better or worse, the childhood pastime was a great fit for the woman tasked with portraying Wednesday Addams in Tim Burton’s new Netflix series, Wednesday.
