Hardik Pandya was back at his best on Tuesday as he hit an unbeaten 71 with just 30 balls and led India to an overall win in the first T20I against Australia in Mohali.

Pandya’s form, with both racquet and ball, rejuvenated at the Asian Cup after a winner against Pakistan in the opening game. However, he was back at his deadliest best in the series opener against Australia, smashing seven fours and five sixes during his stay in the crease and scoring in 236.67.

His destruction with the racquet helped India finish well with an impressive 208/6 after being invited to bat by the Australians.

Of the five sixes he hit in the innings, three came from the last three balls of the innings as Pandya brought rounder Cameron Green to the cleaners with 21 runs from the 20th over. India made the most of the slog overs with 60 runs from the back four and the in-form Pandya played a key role in that attack.
