Fitbit continues to offer great deals on Amazon. That doesn’t apply to the trio of new devices, but pretty much the rest of the range currently sees nice discounts. These include Sense, Charge 5, Versa 3 and Luxe.
We may be in the final days of summer, but it’s not too late to get in shape with a Fitbit. The company is one of the most prominent players in the wearables space. Of course there are other, cheaper brands, but it’s still the well-known names that dominate sales.
This is for a reason. Hardware can usually be easier to emulate than software. But there are still companies like Fitbit, Garmin, Samsung and Apple that offer the better overall package – i.e. hardware plus software. The complete offer.

Fitbit announced the Sense 2, Versa 4 and Inspire 3 a few weeks ago. The first two come with smaller, iterative upgrades, the last one gets a slick AMOLED display. It’s fair to say that these improvements are evolutionary and not as large as most people had hoped. Much of the functionality has remained unchanged.
But there is some good news in this. That means Fitbit will now aggressively discount the previous generations. Considering the upgrades aren’t that big in 2022, you can save quite a bit of money by opting for previous-gen devices. And you don’t have to wait for Black Friday to take advantage of the deals.
Fitbit Sense
This is the right choice if you want pretty much everything Fitbit has to offer. It looks like Versa 3 but has a slightly more premium design. If you’re wondering if you’re missing out on some features by buying Sense instead of Versa, don’t worry. Because you won’t. But you get some extras.
The first thing to mention is the ECG. Taking a leaf out of Apple’s book, there’s finally a Fitbit smartwatch that can record your electrical chart. This is done by placing your fingers on the corners of the case. The only other Fitbit capable of doing this is the Charge 5.
The second major upgrade is 24/7 stress tracking. On Sense also takes into account readings from an Electrodermal Activity Sensor (EDA), as well as resting heart rate, HRV, temperature and more.
The main difference between Sense 2 and Sense is that the latest generation can operate the EDA sensor 24/7. The Original Sense takes these types of readings on demand.
There’s a lot more to offer including built-in GPS, SpO2 and other fitness and health sensors. Finally, users benefit from some smart features like Google Assistant and Alexa, as well as access to various music streaming services.

Fitbit Charge5
The Fitbit Charge 5 is one of the best fitness bands for the average person. It has a large AMOLED display, water resistance, an excellent 7-day battery life, and a great software ecosystem.
Everything you need for 24/7 activity monitoring and more is here. This includes some advanced health monitoring features like EKG and EDA for stress. Think of it as sense but in the form of an activity band. There’s also built-in GPS for tracking outdoor exercises without a smartphone. There are only a handful of activity bands with built-in GPS, and Charge 5 is one of them.
Outside of fitness, the Charge range offers some smart features. These have progressed to the point where they’re starting to blur the line between fitness trackers and smartwatches.
The device is still a good buy. Especially since we are not expecting his successor until the second half of 2023.

Fitbit Versa 3
When it comes to features, the Versa range puts fitness first. They’re everything you’d expect from a Fitbit, tracking real-time stats on 20 different types of activity, including swimming.
You’ll miss out on the advanced health sensors or Sense, but you get everything you need for 24/7 activity and sleep tracking. There’s also built-in GPS for detailed tracking of runs and bike rides. As for Versa 4, it offers more sport modes and little more extras.
All in all, Versa is a great smartwatch. It’s easy to use and includes most of the things that the average person would expect from an activity tracker.

Fitbit Luxe
Luxe represents a nice upgrade over the Inspire range, not only in looks but in functionality as well. What many consider to be the most attractive Fitbit yet packs all the basic fitness tracking goodies along with heart rate, 24/7 stress management and blood oxygen readings. Plus, you can view all of this on the gorgeous AMOLED touchscreen display.
Luxe has a water resistance of 5ATM and will run for around 5 days on a single charge. There’s no built-in GPS, but you do get Connected GPS.
If you’re looking for a slimmer, more discreet experience than the rest of the Fitbit range, the Luxe is the obvious choice. It offers an impressive array of features at a reasonable price.

Fitbit Inspire 2
This is the other option if you’re looking for some discreen on your wrist. The activity band is thin and light with a buttonless design, so you can navigate the device by tapping the screen and swiping up and down.
The standard range of fitness tracking sensors are present, including heart rate, but no built-in GPS. To do this, you have to rely on the satellite signal from your smartphone. Some advanced features include active zone minutes, cardio fitness levels, heart rate zones, sleep stages, menstrual health tracking, guided breathing sessions, and more. The battery life is around 10 days, which is double that of its predecessor.
If you’re looking for a simple and inexpensive way to break into the world of fitness trackers, the Inspire 2 is a solid choice. It covers the essentials without going overboard. As already mentioned, the main difference between this generation and Inspire 3 is the latter’s AMOLED display.
