FIFA 23 is the latest football title from EA Sports, due out on September 30th, 2022 and available for pre-order now. Since the news that EA Sports has ended its relationship with FIFA, the most uncertain is where the series will go next.
We know the next game will be the last to be associated with the Football Association and it will almost certainly carry a title fifa 23, Link to existing naming conventions.
After that, Electronic Arts plans to rebrand the franchise EA SportsFC, and while it’s not quite as catchy, it sets the game publisher apart from the current relationship between the two organizations. EA Sports has assured fans that existing licensing deals and partnerships with some of the biggest football clubs in the world will remain in place, and they do hundreds from them.
As for new features, it’s unclear. fifa 22 has recently started testing crossplay features – meaning Xbox players and PlayStation players can finally go head-to-head – which would suggest the next entry could include more crossplay support from the start. This would be welcome news for anyone looking to play with friends on different consoles, whether they own a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.

When is FIFA 23 coming out?
While EA hasn’t officially confirmed when FIFA 23 released, we can look back at previous installments to get a better idea of when the next game will hit shelves.
Last year, fifa 22 was released on October 1, 2021 and the year before, fifa 21 was released on October 9, 2020. Previous years have also seen FIFA Games released at the end of September. So you can see why our money is in a late September or early October release window.
To be more specific, EA usually releases its titles on a Friday. Based on our educated guess, again on previous schedules, we estimate that FIFA 23 is expected to be released on September 30 or October 7, 2022.
So when do you expect EA Sports to announce the FIFA 23 release date? Last year the publisher announced its cover star and October release in July, so we expect the publisher to make an announcement of the next FIFA title in the next week or two.

Tom Henderson, reporting for Exuter, has suggested the release date for FIFA 23 is expected to be released on September 30th, which is in line with our prediction of when we might see the next one FIFA title hit the shelves. We will keep you informed as soon as there are developments.
EA is also expected to make a number of other game announcements in July featuring series such as Need speed also heavily rumored to be making a big return.
What platforms will FIFA 23 be released on?
fifa 22 was released last year on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Google Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. We can definitely expect to see FIFA 23 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, but the other platforms are not so sure.
The Nintendo Switch versions of FIFA, titled “Legacy Edition” is essentially the same game as previous titles (dating back to fifa 19) with updated team rosters, jerseys, and idents to reflect the game’s new name. Don’t expect much innovation if EA Sports decides to follow the same path FIFA 23.

As for PS4 and Xbox One users, we’d be surprised if they were pulled from the latest entry. After all, FIFA is one of the most popular gaming franchises around the world and people are still struggling to get their hands on a PS5 or an Xbox Series X, it seems unlikely that last-gen users will be left behind. But as we see with other upcoming releases such as Gotham Knightsdevelopers are starting to move away from the older consoles to focus on next-gen experiences.
Will the game still be called “FIFA 23”?
When EA Sport’s partnership with FIFA was announced, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson said: “The launch of EA Sports FC will not impact current EA Sports global football games, and EA and FIFA look forward to delivering the greatest, most immersive game ever later this fall.”
The EA Sports update also confirmed that fan-favorite game modes such as Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football, as well as unique players, teams, stadiums and 30 football leagues from around the world will return in the next installment.
But from 2023, the series will be known as EA SportsFC, With publisher confirmation, we’ll have more details on the changes in Summer 2023.
Who will be the “FIFA 23” cover star?
While details on the final FIFA Cover stars have not yet been officially named, but a clear favorite to repeat the title is Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé, who previously appeared on the cover of the latter two FIFA games.

Will there be a crossover between Ted Lasso and FIFA 23?
A new picture posted on the official Teddy Lasso The Twitter page seems to suggest that AFC Richmond’s football manager could find his way into EA’s next sports title.
The post reads: “Watch out Mario! You’re not the only pixelated man with a mustache who never knows where the tube takes him…” featuring an image of the title character standing in front of a camera rig commonly used to capture a person’s likeness for video games.
If the post wasn’t cryptic enough, the official FIFA The account responding with the side-eye emoji seems like a sure sign that players can lead the fictional greyhounds to greatness in manager mode alongside fictional players from the series like Jamie Tartt.
