However, some passengers were caught on the subject of charging electronics. An expert told Express.co.uk what to pack to avoid onboard challenges.
Points Guy UK’s Ashley Kosciolek shared her essential cruise packing list with Express.co.uk.
She said: “Bring European plug adapters. The situation is improving with every new ship, but cruise cabins are notoriously short of power outlets.
“If, like me, you travel with your phone, laptop, tablet, e-reader, wearables, and a multitude of other electronic devices, charging it all can be a challenge.
“Some cruisers recommend packing a power strip, but that can be tricky as surge-protected strips are often confiscated.

“Instead, I suggest bringing some plug adapters for European-style outlets. You can usually find at least one or two in your room depending on the line and ship, and if you have these adapters you can actually use them.”
Cruise lines may not have sockets for UK plugs, so it’s important for cruise lines to pack plug adapters.
It’s not always a good idea to bring a power strip, as these may be confiscated when passengers board the ship.
Passengers should also try to bring a portable charger so they can service their battery during excursions.
DO NOT MISS
Ashley added: “I never leave without a pack of thank you notes or blank greeting cards.
“Unless something goes horribly wrong, I leave a tip for my room steward at the end of every trip, in addition to the automatic tips being charged to my account.
“It gives me a place to keep my money instead of just leaving it on the vanity when I leave.
“Even if you’re not a fan of extra tips, you can still leave a nice thank you note.”
The cruise crew are notoriously hard working, so it’s always nice when passengers show their appreciation as they depart.

She said: “With so many horror stories about lost luggage lately, Apple AirTags are now a must-have for every traveler, especially cruise lines that fly to their embarkation ports.
“Just put one in each of your bags and you can track its whereabouts via your iPhone and a Bluetooth connection.
“With a pack of these handy gadgets, you’ll be better equipped to find your missing bags than the airlines themselves.”
Many passengers have lost their luggage lately and some are struggling to find it.
AirTags or another similar tracking device allows passengers to track their luggage while traveling.
It’s a good idea to keep all valuables in your carry-on as they are less likely to get lost.
Some cruise passengers like to pack a bathing suit in their carry-on luggage so they can swim on the first day.
Cruise lines usually deliver passengers’ luggage towards the end of the first day, so it’s good to be prepared.
