Brenner earns MLS Team of the Week honors for Week 32

CINCINNATI — FC Cincinnati forward Brenner was named MLS Team of the Week in Week 32, the league announced today. In addition, goalkeeper Roman Celentano has earned himself a spot on the bench for Team of the Week.

Brenner secures a spot on the league’s weekly leaderboard for the third time this season and fourth time in his career. The Brazilian striker’s brace against Real Salt Lake gave the Orange-Blues a 2-1 away win to defeat Western Conference opponents for the first time in club history.

With his brace on Saturday, Brenner now has five of the nine all-time multi-goal appearances in FC Cincinnati history, four of them this season. He scored five of Brenner’s career-best 14 goals this season in his last two games for FCC.

Roman Celentano secured a spot on the bench among the league’s weekly bests for his third career as MLS Team of the Week. His seven saves, including a stoppage of RSL’s Pablo Ruiz penalty, set a career high and allowed FC Cincinnati to secure a 2-1 away win.

Celentano has made 19 saves from 21 shots in his last three games with FC Cincinnati. With his saved penalty, the rookie goalie became the first FCC goalie since Spencer Richey in 2019 to save multiple shots from the penalty spot in both a season and a career.
