How do I save a tweet for mobile and PC?

In this read, we’re going to discuss seven ways you can save or bookmark a tweet, e.g. For example, a nice quote you saw, a pro tip, a funny incident, or something to keep handy in case you need it. So without further ado, let’s take a look at them.

Flag a tweet

An easy way to save a tweet for future reference is to use Twitter’s built-in bookmarking feature. It’s available for both Twitter mobile app and Twitter web app, and all tweets added to bookmark list will be synced across your devices. To bookmark a tweet:

1. Go to the tweet you want to bookmark.

2. Click the share button below the tweet.

3. Now on the next screen, tap on Bookmark option to add said tweet to bookmark list.

Bookmark a tweet

All bookmarked tweets can be accessed from the left menu of the app and Twitter website. However, if the tweet is deleted, it will also be removed from bookmarks.

Send a self DM to save a tweet

Another way to save a tweet is to send it to yourself via Twitter DM. This method can be useful if you want to keep a separate list of selected tweets from your bookmarks. To tweet yourself in DM:

1. Go to the tweet you want to add and click the share button below the tweet.

2. From the pop-up menu, click the Send via Direct Message option.

3. Now enter your Twitter username and select it.

4. You can also add a comment as a note to remind yourself why you saved it. Now press the Submit button.

Note: In case of deleting a tweet, you can still preview the tweet in DM, it will not redirect to the tweet. If you can’t send links in Twitter DM, check out our guide to fixing links in Twitter DM that won’t send.

Screenshot of the tweet

The above two methods are relatively easy for anyone to use, but they depend on the existence of the tweet. As if the tweet owner or, in the worst case, Twitter would remove the tweet, it will be removed from both bookmarks and DM. To avoid this, you can take a screenshot of the tweet to keep the copy safe in case the tweet is deleted. That’s how it’s done:

1. Go to the tweet you want to save.

2. Now press the volume up and power button on your Android phone or take a screenshot on your iPhone to save it to your gallery.

3. Alternatively, you can use Twitter bots like Pikasoor Screenshoter to take a screenshot of the tweet you want to save.

Note: In case of a tweet deletion, only the local screenshot will remain as the bot replies will also be deleted unless you downloaded the image.

Email the tweet

You can also save a tweet by emailing it to yourself or someone else. This allows you to save the content of the tweet along with the link to the tweet. This might not be the best method, but it can help preserve a tweet’s content even after it’s been deleted. To send a tweet:

1. Go to the tweet you want to add to save it and click the share button below the tweet.

2. Now select Email from the pop-up menu.

3. Enter the recipient’s name or your own email address.

Note: In the case of a tweet deletion, the text of the tweet remains, but the link does not direct you to the tweet.
